Wandered around the Kamloops area, and found the Hoodoo trail in Mara Canyon. This trail is also called cinnamon ridge trail, and part of Lac duBois grasslands. access is off Ord rd, to Tranquille Rd... and then on past the air port... the trailhead is just a wide spot along the road.. directly across from the composting facility... there is a city of Kamloops sign just on the other side of the highway...
the trail follows the steam bed up.... and along majestic sandstone canyon walls, and rock formations.... hoodoos all along the trail.
The trail winds up through the sagebrush.... cactus in full bloom all along the lower trail.......
The canyon.... in places the walls are only a couple of feet apart, a slot canyon with soaring walls above.
the trail is little skittery, sloppery loose scree in places... gorgeous ... a bit of Arizona slot canyon a whole lot closer to home.
