That is an awesome place. The hike will be harder without the snow. I like to camp below Colonial Glacier and take several days to explore the area. up.gif

I hit consistant snow about a 3/4 mile above Pyramid lake at 3800'. So about 3 miles after leaving from the trailhead. Once I ran into the patchy snow, it wasn't long before it was deep.

Doing that climb solo and being back to your car at 3:45 pm is amazing. Fun read and a heck of a lot of work getting up there and back in one day.
