Another Enchantments Report:) I'll keep it short and just post what we want to see pics! July 2nd My Buddy Paul and I decided to do a daytrip up Dragontail. We drove over the night before slept a few hours and were hiking a little before 6am. Made ok time up to the lake since it's a snowfree trail. Took a break and then made our way around the lake and started up to Colchuck Col. Still being early we had decent booting conditions. We booted the first 800 then followed the open moraine ridge. Lucky for us a group of three was ahead and was putting in the steps for the last 1200ft of snow. Actually it was a family and there daughter was doing all the work, way to go kid!

At the col we rested and a solo guy that we had been playing tag team with all morning decide to join us for the trip up Dragontail. We put on crampons for the couloir to Pandora's Box but probably didn't really need them. Anyway we kicked steps up in excellent snow conditions to the box. At the top, we didn't like the steep snow down from the Box to the slopes leading to Dragontail, so opted to drop back down a little and scramble class3 rock on the left side of the couloir. This put us on the ridge proper a little more north of Pandora's Box with no steep snow to downclimb. Made our way to the summit and enjoyed! We had the summit to ourselves today:)

We opted to head down via Aasgard which lead to a wonderful 500ft glissade coming off Dragontail to the upper basin. Going down from the pass was a series of glissades and plungesteping. It went pretty quick. Back at the car a little over 12hrs later. It's not a record breaking time but that is probably cause I'm not in shape, and we took all those 'necessary' breaks. You know second, third breakfast ... summit break....

Good times and a beautiful day!!! Notes: Trip time 12.25hrs, Summit to Car ~3.5hrs, The couloir up from the col is not as steep as it looks.

My favorite...

Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

Cool report. Those are some awesome looking mountains. Added to list!

Much prettier when the lake is blue than all those frozen Colchuck Lake pics we've endured all spring!

That is a really awesome shot -- the party on Colchuck with the mass of Stuart looming in the back. Strong effort on a beatiful day, Justus! Obviously a great day out...

Justus -- please submit that Colchuck/Stuart pic for the calendar next year. I'd love to look at that picture for a month.
