After much pressure I cleaned out the garage. I found my old outback oven and don't know why I quit using it, lazy i guess. Do any of you still use it? If so I would be interested in your favorite recipes cooked in it. In 2 weeks I'll be in at 8,500', do you follow the company directions for recipe/altitude changes? As you know goats carry my gear so a few extra pounds make no difference. Eating a pizza, followed by brownies away from it all will be neat and a surprise to my elderly companions.

I have one....oddly enough I use the heat diffuser in it often but not the oven itself!

Heat diffuser and pan are great for pancakes

I have used the diffuser with my own pan and lid and made pizza that way. The diffuser keeps the crust from burning. Very, very tasty!

Hiking alone, a fry pan for pancakes is fine but for 3 or 4 I find a 20" aluminum griddle with handles removed will make 6 pancakes at once. Put the 1st 6 on a pie tin over a pot filled with hot water to keep warm while cooking the 2nd batch. 3 or 4 apiece works great. I get the necessary grease from the pre-cooked bacon from Costco, only takes a few minutes. I cook over an open fire but have used the griddle over 2 stoves adjusted for height difference.
