Quick report for a short (but steep) hike. The only issue I had was finding the trailhead, and that's not major. Just walk up the road that climbs past the Nordic Center. The sign and kiosk are just out of sight from first, broad parking area. Only saw one other party. No issues except one of them got one bug bite. It was quiet after the highway noise was blocked by the forest. The lake has drained to the point that the outlet is dry, hence even quieter. The elevation gain is just over 1,000 feet, and the trail is about 1.6 miles (but the trail sign says 1.1 miles). The tricky part is that there are long, straight, very pleasant stretches, which means the elevation gain isn't gradual. Climb then flat then climb then flat and repeat. Now the question is how long until snowshoe season. In the meantime, the fall colors are on display. Photos in tweet because I forgot how to add them directly (and failed last time, too. So it goes.) https://twitter.com/tetrimbath/status/1440484889615233029
