What started as a small club outing ended up with ten people going on this trip. eek.gif I like solo trips and small groups, but there is nothing quite like a traveling party.

This hike is well documented so I will just talk about conditions. The flowers look like early July (robust), the bugs acted like early august (voracious), and the first day of fall had a distinct summer feeling to it.

There is tons of water along the route, and hardly any people to be seen. The bootpath is straight forward, and only steepish the last 1000'. I used hands a couple of times, otherwise it was just walking.

Tahoma itself is not that attractive without a white blanket, but I cant deny the coolness of a volcano dominating the scene. Pyramid Park with three waterfalls looked like a gorgeous place to spend a couple of days.

The patrol cabin was occupied by some friends of the park so we got to look inside. Iron and Copper looked like fun scrambles, and Ararat could not have been greener.

A worthy hike indeed. 14+ miles R/T, 4000' of gain, 10+ hours car to car.

10 people on one hike is much different than one and two. stun.gif The weather was perfect. Only one war wound on this hike... I missed one shoulder with deet and have around 30 bites in that one spot! doh.gif Thank you again for inviting me Magellan. I had a great time! Here are a few more photos of the trip.

On the way out, Magellan, Nancy and I decided to take the side trip to Indian Henry's Patrol Cabin. Glad we did as were able to get a peek inside. hockeygrin.gif

Pretty uneventful on the way out. We stopped for one break at the bridge was all. Great trip and a lot of fun. up.gif

Take risks not to escape life, but to prevent life from escaping I may not have anyone rocking my world right now but, I don't have anyone messing it up either.

Nice work, Magellan and team. We need to add this one to our list. up.gif Because in my experience, each additional partner increases complexity by an order of magnitude, I'm impressed that you folks were organized enough to pull off a great climb with a big group! Nice pix also. up.gif

That is high praise indeed. We did not have any whiners, and we met in the middle for a nice group speed.
