So now that you have done Dallas' list what do you think? Did he get it right? Would you make changes?

Stefan, do you mean this one?
Climbing Mt. Ballard during the high hunt.
@mike.. I would say Dallas got it right, but since he created the list there have been two first ascents of major (difficult) peaks in this state that would probably have to be considered. Lemolo (AKA Hardest Mox) should be considered in the place of SE Mox, and Assassin Spire should be considered in the place of Lincoln Peak. Neither of these prospective new additions have prominence though (but Burgundy Spire doesn't either). Assassin Spire is definitely harder to climb than Lincoln Peak and Lemolo is definitely harder than SE Mox (you have to go over the summit of SE Mox to get there and back by the easiest route), but the question of what is a major peak is then called into question. Dallas Kloke had made a couple of attempts to climb Assassin Spire. I think had Assassin Spire been climbed before the list was created, then Dallas would have included it for similar reasons as Burgundy Spire. Assassin Spire is unique in that it is the only peak in Washington that requires technical ice climbing (WI4) to summit (until someone finds an easier route, which I think is highly unlikely). I can't think of any other peak in the state where this is the case.

Not only are your climbing accomplishments impressive, but you can write too!
This thread is "hall of fame" material for sure. Way to go Tom!

Cool thread.
Regarding the above, I know the two sub-peaks that you name are nearby to the other two "easier" peaks on the list, but even still I guess that my thought is that the goal of the list is to have the 10 most difficult peaks. And since you have SE Mox and Lincoln as tougher than Johannesburg and Burgundy it seems like the toughest version of the list you mention would be with the former and not the latter, correct?

Eric.. I'm guessing you meant "Lemolo" when you said "Johannesburg", in which case you're right, a list consisting of Lemolo and Assassin would definitely be more difficult. I would even consider Assassin a separate peak from Lincoln since they are worlds apart.. this would knock Burgundy off the list. I contend we should put all twelve on a list and call it The Hardest 12, but either way, The Difficult 10 (as it has been defined) is in the bag.

oh crap another list! ...and peanut butter isn't on it.
very nice Tom.
So is Lincoln Peak's X-Couloir on lookers left, or the narrow one that goes almost to the summit?

Stefan, X-Couloir is the narrow one that nearly goes to the summit.

I'd like to put in honorable mention for Seahpo Peak. Dallas Kloke, despite having climbed Seahpo, never put it on his most difficult list. I think it's more difficult than Burgundy Spire and thus, belongs on this list. For what it's worth..
