I had pretty much written off the weekend, but yesterday the forecast looked passable to the east and I decided to head toward Leavenworth. The 4th of July Creek trail is one of those Cascade classics that I've never done, so today was the day. It's a fine trail with nice open views to the Enchantments and the east end of Cashmere. A little overgrown in some stretches higher up.

There is very little snow left, even at the summit just over 7000'. It was 30F and the summit rocks were covered with rime ice, so I didnt try to scramble to the top of the big summit block.

Overall the day was a pleasant surprise, given the original forecast. It was barely 2pm when I got down, so I decided to check out the newly reopened Icicle Road. Pretty amazing to drive right past the Chatter Cr. trailhead, as well as others I've never ventured to, yet.
New end of the road!
