A good seat for the show
A good seat for the show
I've had an unfortunate debilitating "lumbar event" preventing me from my scheduled LO rental at Hagar. FYI: it is available 12/23 thru the night of the 30th. Happy Solstice!

Sorry to hear this , David. I'm at the one year anniversary of my last major "lumbar event" that seriously called into question how much hiking I'd be able to continue to do. Recovery seemed very far away but it (mostly) happened. We'll miss one of your wonderful lookout trip reports this time but look forward to the first one for next year.

Thanks for the encouragement Abert; recovery is coming along, but hauling solo into a remote LO seemed like a bad idea at this point frown.gif Glad to see you've had a good year. Happy Trails to you!

Sorry you missed it. It is a special trip indeed. I celebrated my fourth Solstice there a couple of weeks ago. It was a piece of cake. We drove to the spring, then hiked to the top. Pretty mild winter weather. Good luck with that Lumbar.

Glad you made it again! The conditions had been especially mild since the below-zero spell in early Dec. Your higher start at the spring must have been sweet cool.gif My back has been gratefully pain-free for a week up.gif up.gif Looking forward to 2014 at Hagar, and perhaps a hand-off from a regular Solstice-seeker?

We should cross paths someday. We always plan for Solstice.
