Crap... Went down to House of Donuts today and found it closed for remodeling. Nothing about an estimated reopening.
House of Donuts in Lakewood temporarily closed. I hope they don't turn it into a yuppie coffee/wi-fi shop with $2 donuts and $5 cups of coffee.

Hope it doesn't remodel into a yuppie wi/fi coffee shop with $3 donuts...

Well passed by the House of Donuts last Saturday and it has reopened. Not a lot changed. They raised their prices though. Now Maple Bars cost $1. Used to be 80 cents for pretty much any donut.

How about butterhorns? Where can you get a hearty butterhorn, not one of those small scraggily ones?

Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

7 pages on donuts and nobody has mentioned the donuts at the Black Diamond Bakery. Sometimes I go to Crystal just so I have an excuse to stop there and buy donuts.

That is strange since when I was biking a lot I went there a lot. I thought it had been mentioned but apparently not (I added them to the list as well as Lafeens). Not your traditional raised donuts. All cake donuts unless they changed but very good.

Added Happy Donuts in Kent. Can't believe I missed this one (since it is pretty close to my house, lol.gif ) Very good doughnuts. I think they are closed on Mondays though.

...Cottage Bakery in Long Beach! When I was a kid we used to have family/close friend fishing trips out of Chinook. While the dads and uncles were fishing, the moms and aunts would take us kids into Long Beach in the morning and one of the stops was always the Bakery. I took my boys to the Bakery for the first time a couple of years back. It was better than I remembered.

Sluys Bakery in Poulsbo! Sluys is an old fashioned Norwegian bakery that sells all sorts of fantastic baked goods. They make awesome butterhorns (and just about anything else you can think of)! I've been to Voodoo, and the donuts from Sluys are WAY better.
