frown.gif How horrifically tragic. I am praying for her family and friends. I can't imagine those poor little girls growing up without their mommy. frown.gif

The Seattle Times has a really nice editorial about Ranger Anderson. Not being very modern these days, I'm unsure how to post a link, but I recommend it.

If you decide to go, be prepared for a very large crowd. If it is anything like US Forest Service Officer Kristine Fairbanks' memorial service In PA 3 years ago, there will be a few thousand people in attendance. Many will be law enforcement officers from around the world. Govenor Gregoire attended the PA service. You might need to get there an hour or more before the service. Rumi

Folks, please take the National Park gun debate to the stewardship forum. No more gun debate or links to advocacy columns in this thread. Thanks.

I don't believe this has been posted previously. Here is a first hand account with pictures from someone at Paradise the day of this tragedy. It's quite a read. http://www.freeponder.com/blog/2012/01/02/new-years-day-2012-at-paradise/

Intense. A lot more to the story than one would at first imagine. Thank you.

Another incredible and brilliantly written perspective on that horrible day. It reminds me that it could've so easily been me, as the only reason we didn't go that day was that our dog sitter wasn't available. It also reminded me that even though there was one very evil man out there that day, this writer was surrounded by so many good people. Thanks for posting this, Don.
