Is this another version of one you've posted previously? I have a memory of this or one quite similar.
Yup. It's new - the color in the clouds is probably better than the ones I posted earlier, in the trip report - but the composition is the same. The conditions were changing quite rapidly and I was able to get a bunch of different takes on the same scene.

I made a scouting trip up to the saddle between Lake Ethel and Loch Eileen on Saturday. I was hoping to find an easier/shorter route there than taking the trail up to McCue Ridge and dropping down again. Didn't see such a route, but had a nice day on the hike and the scramble through the forest from Ethel, up to McCue Ridge and back.

It was incredible. We hiked out to the Fremont lookout and spent most of the evening covered in low clouds. Then around sunset it broke like something out of Lord of the Rings...

Gambles on the edge of weather don't always pay out but when they do it is so worth all the times they don't, eh?

On Saturday I did a trip that I had been wanting to try for a while -- Surprise Mountain. I left the car about 1pm, passed Surprise Lake at 3pm and was on the summit at 5pm. Thought about staying until 8p, but the clouds that had been obscuring surrounding peaks looked like they might close in again, so I left at 7p. Spent an hour at the lake for photos as the sun set, back to the car at 1030. What a beautiful day.
On the summit.

This was as unobscured as it got for Mount Daniels.
