Cannot wait for the report Iron!
Here's a couple from this morning's sunrise. It is great grabbing a cup of espresso, camera and walking up from my home to this view.
Another rich sunrise in Bonney Lake. There seems to be a string of great sunrises here for January. Sunrise over Mount Rainier

jd_hiker: thank you for your effort to capture and share such a splendor as Rainier at sunrise, winter and all! I love the split shadow from summit across clouds! Kudos for your shot!

The sunset last night was off the hook! I came out of my garage and the ground was glowing red, so I looked up to see what was causing it and the sky was absolutely on fire. I had no idea that was going to happen or I would've gone somewhere with my camera. By the time I could've gotten my camera and gotten somewhere with a decent view of the sky it would've been gone.

I agree CW. I was driving home on HWY 167 wishing there was somewhere I could have quickly pulled off to get a decent shot. It was so on fire.

I was able to dodge the traffic in the parking lot of the post office while snapping a few pics of the sunset last night. I didn't have many options for composition; tough to shoot over the cars, past the streetlights and around the buildings.
It lit up so much of the sky!! I sure wish I had been up on a mountain ridge to view it. But it was a fast changing sunset; it only lasted in my area for 6 minutes or so.
DSF_0275 - City Sunset Friday the 13th was lucky; I caught this sunset while dodging traffic in the Post Office parking lot.

One of the few times I was caught without my camera. So we just sat and watched it unfold. Lasted a good long time but the camera was a mile away in the truck.

PiB, where did you find the owls? (Edit: I see you have a trip report posted. Cool.)
