Thanks Kite! Googled it and was intrigued to hear it is home to Sea Gypsies which I had never heard of. http://www.pulaumabul.com/tun-sakaran-marine-park/ https://jamesmorgan.co.uk/features/bajau-laut-sea-nomads/

^ Woof, what a spot! up.gif At this time last year, I was dreaming of my upcoming summer trip to the Karakorams. Yesterday, I went over some of my unprocessed photos from the trip:

I had an owl spree last weekend. And went for a hike.

Very nice composition. You managed to get just a dab of the Second and Seneca Building's dome and most of the Washington Mutual Tower, plus Smith, the Wheel and more. Best is that you only got two of those blinkin' cranes. wink.gif

Mike, that is a terrific view. Must feel great to be there sort of out of the fray. ~z

@z thanks. However the fray is creeping our way. Note the brown sky right. And no more dark skies what with surrounding ring; Vancouver, Victoria, PA Sequim, Seattle, Everett, Marysville Skagit, B'ham. The whole horizon is bright.

We're in the midst of a weirdly mild winter on the east coast. The place in the photo is typically nothing but ice and snow at this time of the year. Instead, I encountered roaring waterfalls (the most water flow I've ever seen in them), an actually warm breeze (in February!) and swirling fog. And mud...much mud. Trip report on the way...

Is it still hiking if you only had to walk a couple hundred yards?

Wow. The first owl shot is great. (Guy in the red coat is not overly distracting . . . not a problem.) Was that hand-held? (Were the all hand-held? Tripod?) Almost makes me want to get a longer lens. Thanks for posting.

Thanks! Some were hand-held and some were on a tripod. I can't remember which ones were which... When I first got there one owl was really showing off, swooping down really close to people so I jumped into the fray. Then he circled off for awhile so I ran out into the field and set up my tripod and two of them came back and I got more shots on the tripod.
