This photo was one of my favorites from my recent trip to the Adirondacks. It's a 'selfie': I set a 10sec timer, then ran back to the spot I had picked out. When I got there, I saw that there was a puddle, which I'd forgotten about. Oh well, I turned around to face the camera, stood in the puddle, took a step and froze, just in time to hear the click.

That Mt. Colden selfie is very nice, GaliWalker. They all are, but something about all arcs and curves overlapping and the colors. up.gif Mike, that fresh snow makes the peaks really pop. At first (in that first shot) I didn't see your dog and suddenly he/she emerged into view. wink.gif ~z

Beautiful images, GW! I've never had a chance to visit those mountains in the autumn -- maybe some day. But larch are turning now!

Sunrise at Table Rock
Sunrise at Table Rock
I used my 10sec timer - which I prefer over my remote - to take this self 'portrait'. The surface of Table Rock is riven with deep fissures. Because of the broken terrain, before I took the photo I walked over my path from the camera to the spot I wanted to stand at a few times, to completely familiarize myself with it. I'm glad I did! Here's a story of a rescue, from just two days before my trip, of a guy who fell from the exact spot I'm standing at. eek.gif www.parsonsadvocate.com/dramatic-save-table-rock/

Very smart. Table Rock is no place to be stumbling around. Yikes. ~z
