Nice shot of Garfield, Will. You know I've not hiked that area since the 70's. I ought to get up there. Did you walk the Middle Fork trail and if so did you encounter snow? What elevation?

I drove the Middle Fork road past MP 14 yesterday (about a mile or so past Garfield, ~1400') and it's snow free

Thanks Gary!
We only drove up to the trailhead and had a quick look around. Walked across the bridge and up the trail far enough to get that shot. The parking lot had quite a bit of compacted snow/ice in it still, there were patches on the trail, the bridge had a thin layer of ice on it, and the road had snow along the sides and up to 6" deep on it in shady spots along the edges for about a mile downstream of the trailhead.
That was on Sunday and it was all melting pretty fast. Jake's post confirms my thoughts that it's all probably melted by now.

Sorry to hear about the injury, but nice to see you're on the mend.
Yesterday, on Earth Day, I decided to take my youngest and his friend - who had never been on a hike before - to Coopers Rock State Forest (West Virginia):
The kids had a lot of fun, and watching them in the outdoors was so satisfying.
