Nice 360 views from Bootjack Mountain on Saturday. Interesting avalanche fracture pattern over on The Cradle.

It looks like a piece of that gigantic cornice above failed and started the slide. Cool photo.

mike - is your pup with you when you get those fox pictures? Are the foxes that accustomed to people & dogs around?

The short answer is, sometimes. One den near the road was apparently featured on Seattle TV and since then there has been a constant crowd. Mostly out of county, state and country license plates. Huge lenses. The kits are fearless when very young but soon become wary. At this den not so much. Even the parents are beggars. There are other dens which the pup and I visit. We both just sit and wait and eventually curiosity wins and they come out. The pup knows to lay quietly but I keep her on a short leash as insurance.

Cool, thanks! My old dog was good about remaining calm and staying behind me on command but I know some animals can be very skittish regardless.

I spent a few days visiting with my sister and close friend of hers who lives in MT this past week. Got in a bit of hiking in Glacier NP and the nearby Bison refuge, and also witnessed the most amazingly beautiful thunderstorm I've ever watched roll through anywhere. This is from our host's porch, overlooking the Flathead river valley and the Mission Range. Sure beats TV!!
