Thanks - that's definitely been one of my goals so it is really nice to read that feedback.
Did you ever get those waders https://www.nwhikers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8024073&highlight=waders and if so, did you use them to capture that angle of that image. It's a cool perspective. It appears you are at / near the water line / level

Yes. I got some light Chota waders with neoprene sock feet and Chota washing shoes. They work well, but I didn't take then down the grand canyon. The main river is generally too swift to be getting in for photos and these side rivers and creeks are warm enough to wade in with shorts and like mesh river shoes. I was in the water for that shot but only slightly Here are

This red-legged frog was kind enough to strike a pose and sit still for a few seconds.

Great composition and perfect choice for B&W. up.gif My philosophy behind a B&W treatment is to try and highlight something that otherwise gets lost in the colors; otherwise, I always prefer color for nature/landscape photography. Your shot is justification: I'm pretty sure the surf wouldn't have been nearly the star that it is without the B&W.

^ up.gif With all of these spectacular photos being put up recently, I got inspired and went back through my older photos, to see if I could find one I had passed over before. I was able to find this from 2016, which is similar to some I've put up before, but taken at a (slightly) different time to the others. This one, as well as the others posted earlier, were taken from near our campsite at 16,000ft on the Biafo Glacier. We were about to begin our final push to the ice-cap of Snow Lake, in the heart of the Karakoram Range. I'd got ready before the others so that I could catch the sunrise from this glacial pool I'd noted the day before. It was an overcast dawn, but as I waited more and more color began to develop amidst the clouds behind the spectacular spires of 21,040ft tall Sosbun Brakk.

Thanks - and back at you. I'm a sucker for great colored sea-of-cloud shots and that's a nice one! It's been fun to have time since leaving salaried life to invest a bit more in my shooting and processing skills. It is one of those never-ending quests for sure and a combo of learning and practice time seems to pay off!!

DarkHelmet - that shot from High Rock is pretty fabulous. up.gif Last couple pages are fairly spectacular, guys. Worth checking in here just to look at the pictures. up.gif
