^ Gorgeous birds! For a long time I had terrible luck with trying to photograph herons in southwest Pennsylvania; they were so skittish! Then, on multiple trips to the New Jersey coastline I got loads of success. Looks like you are on a roll. up.gif

Not a great shot, but the only one I'm going to get.  All 3 chicks were eaten by eagles this morning according to my neighbor.  Nature is brutal.  Picture taken Tuesday.

GaliWalker's "Shadow King" reminded me of this crow I photographed while farm-sitting for a friend.  He's used to my friend leaving him and his mate treats on an old stump near the house. So I put out his snack but remained outside in a nearby chair to take his photo.  I was sitting too close for comfort and he wouldn't go for the food -  just sat among the locust blooms giving me the stink eye until I went inside.  He's not quite in focus but I like the painterly quality & the circular "frame".
