Ninja… turtles….touche’. fencing.gif embarassedlaugh.gif
I always do my best to not make the herons fly off, or the turtles submerge. Coasting by with my paddle stowed usually does the trick, but some animals are braver, or smarter, than others.
All pics taken with an Iphone 11 (not pro), 2x max zoom, so if it looks close, it was close.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

Samish Overlook. (This panorama is actually a composite of 16 different photos stitched together in Lightroom.)

The tree I made it under last Wednesday is no more! This is a rare and wonderful instance of water trail maintenance.
How to get a heron pic with less than 2x zoom: sit in your canoe under a branch and wait for a heron to land just feet away. Easy!

Outside of Cashmere. No need to explain why the butterfly photo. I'm a lousy critter photog; couldn't believe he was going to be still for me. So I poked him to see if he was dead. Nope, 'ees not dead yet, just resting. so I didn't have to kill him to get a good photo. I hate it when I have to do that. I'm movin' up in the photog world. But the road; it seems silly to photograph roads, but I like roads that go up and over and beyond. Plus they don't move much. So I took a picture of it.

Dapper looking butterfly Ms. Brown! It looks to be a Anise Swallowtail, per my Butterflies of the Pacific Northwest book.
