After a week of chickening out on driving to the pass I finally got out of town and sampled the new snow. Wind had affected most of the N & East slopes that we wandered around trying to find powder. Some cracking of the top 4 inch layer, but no wide slab movement seen. Snowing & blowing all day.
Skinning Heather Ridge
Searching for good snow
Eric cuts it up
Unexpectedly our last run out the south side was by far the best powder and made our day.
Skied Stevens Monday 23rd. Awesome weather, great lighting on the hills...no camera as I expected it to be overcast. About 4-6" new, and the best snow to be found in the trees skier's right of Wildkatz. Backside got noticeably heaver (but not wet) and consolidated around lunchtime (not that we take lunch ).
