This Redmond company imports and sell's a small campfire & grill for use in those fragile alpine meadows when a flame is necessary or simply wanted. http://www.industrialrev.com/firebowl.html

Hmmm. It's a stainless steel bowl, for 15 bucks. Looks nice, but a weight consideration at 10.5 oz. Not sure how I could utilize it. It would require the same fuel and leave nearly the same ash footprint as any other low impact fire. Probably not usable in any fire-restricted zones. For the weight, I'd consider substituting one of those Tibetan singing bowls, they're really fun...

I think it's pretty cool, not bad at 10.5 oz. Of course it's not something to take on a thru-hike but it could be great fun for a weekend trip to a lake or basin. Clearly it's going to have less impact than a fire on the ground, a beneficial feature in many areas fires are allowed.

Looks like one of those old vegetable steamers.... It's an intriguing idea.

Thats exactly what it is. I thought the same thing. Pick one up at Goodwill for $0.99 and you are good to go! Heck, I think the wife has three of them! Maybe I'll start selling them for $10.00 apiece!

I'm a man, I can change, if I have to, I guess.

LOL I was thinking of how to modify the one I have or the two my mother has!

A coffee can with vent holes in the bottom works just fine, free and weighs about the same.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

For a serious high-end wood stove, that can be used in a large tent, try one of these medium titanium stoves from SeekOutside.
