I was apprehensive. Very.
From an avlanche that occurred on this mountain about 2 years ago.
I wanted to go back and I needed some help and so Carla an Franklin had the day off so we went to climb Sefrit!
We did the north glacier approach...very easy right now in fact a snowbridge over the creek will be there for quite some time...and barely any brush work. We went up "wall street" (the gully) which is quite filled up with snow to the glacier in great weather, up to the glacier and then at the base of a gully that would lead to near the summit.
From this point about 2 years ago, we continued on east...well that ended in an avalanche...and this year the gully looked great so we took it with Franklin leading the whole way up. We did use a rope. From the top of the steep snow filled gully it was class 3 to the summit where the weather had turned sour and we did not spend much time on the summit.
We did a double rope rappel down the gully and then downclimbed it. A series of glissading and postholing was filled with the rest of the day as the sky was spitting on us.
Oh what a great day with the fabulous snow conditions!

Nice job. Any idea how many feet were gained in the gully? Looks like a fun grind.

Good to see that the gully was in this time (last time had overhanging cornice in April and was not an option). That's a great route.
Nice two tool technique.

Congratulations on this tricky peak. How many had signed the register since Creeden and I visited it seven years ago?

Fast easy and fun. But what happened to our weather? Sun in the morning then nasty ass cold wind, snow and drizzle...
Big pressure and deadline in two days... I couldn't say no to this trip.
Thanks Stefan and Dicey, nice to clear the mind.
Lower exit of "Wall Street" A lazy start on a summer feeling morning -T shirt weather Dicey testing the snow bridge Dicey exiting Wall Street Heading east up the glacier Dicey checking out the North Gulley -background are Goat Mts Goat Mts 600+ feet of steep gulley nope, not the summit Happy Easy class 3 "Hey Stefan, maybe this isn't class 3?" 2 labels Did a summit ever feel so sweet? Summit Mango Time! Looking down the northeast face to 2010 ridge route and Hannegan trail covered in a massive slide Nooksack Tower in the unexpected clouds Dicey rapping the to avoid the steep col lip snow Stefan on rap, Dicey at anchor Last rays of sunshine, while we are being lightly snowed on. Wall street in the drizzle
Hmmm, no pics of the after hike celebration... all a little blurry.
Thanks for the great hike Stefan!

What happened to the sunny weather? You all look like you're dressed for winter.
Nice photo of Dicey's mangoes.
