Just wanted to thank you, MC, for posting this. We went with the kids today, and Gabriel was enthralled by all the cool rocks. They had "Mineral Bucks" for kids to use to get free rocks from some of the vendors. Both my kids were so happy to get free rocks. Then one of the vendors took a liking to Gabriel and gave him some extra rocks from his son's old collection. Gabriel spent the whole afternoon and evening arranging and looking at his loot in his room, and trying to devise ways to keep his sister from wrecking them. I even caught him up after we had put him to bed, looking at his rocks by the light of his head lamp. It was a great family outing, and really sparked something in my son!
