Enjoying the Sun!

One of my favorite "local" hikes. Did this hike in late April and found some nice early wildflowers, including "Dutchman's Breeches", another member of the Dicentra (Bleeding Heart) Family. The Umatilla River splits into two at Umatilla Forks and the trail starts near there. This is the highest water I've ever seen in the river. Also had to check out the new bridge over Coyote Creek at 2.7 miles in. Last year on another hike, I met the two-man, two-mule trail crew that did all the recent work on the Walla Walla District trails. Good work, guys! And love your draft mule, Bessie!
