scramblyn, I was one of those who made the second trip from Bootjack back across the ridge towards Highchair. A memorable day indeed. I logged 13 miles and 6400' of gain that day. If you'd like to refresh your memory I posted a trip report for that trip: Long Day On Highchair

A bootjack is a device used to assist a person in pulling off their boots. It sometimes takes the shape of an elevated ramp with a "V" notch at the end. You stand onto the ramp with one foot holding it down. The heel of the other boot goes into the "V" notch and off comes the boot.
