I need some new rainpants, primarily for hiking, biking, backpacking, XC skiing, and climbing. I'm looking for something reasonably durable (waterproof and construction), lightweight, not crazy-expensive, that I can ideally try on and buy somewhere in Seattle, and that ideally has full side-zips.
I've tried the Marmot Precip -- either too tight in the legs or too long -- and the OR Palisade -- really? I need to undo the side zips just to get them on?
Does anyone have any other suggestions? or know if the OR Reflexa fits the same as the Palisade?
Thanks!
Not sure what you mean re: your comment about the OR pants. They are almost identical to the Marmot Precip in design. One thing I really like about them is that the flap to cover the zipper is on the OUTSIDE and not the inside like the Precips...I was forever getting the flap material stuck in the zipper with the Precips. Not a problem with the OR pants.
I had to partially unzip my pants to get them on regardless of the brand...not really that big of a deal. You don't have to unzip them all the way for either pant...
I love my OR pants...a little lighter than the Precips and they are cheaper too.
Not full length zip, but you might want to check out the REI Ultralight rain pants. They are made of stretch fabric and are way more comfy than the Precip
