The Panorama Ridge trail is in the Garibaldi Provincial Park just south of Whistler, BC. There are several trail options that make for a great loop hike. We went to Garibaldi Lake first and up to Panorama Ridge and returned via the Taylor Meadows trail. This is an epic hike with amazing scenery and meadows! 17 mi RT 5000' gain panorama ridge- 6700'

Perfect timing on this. My wife is riding the Whistler GranFondo this weekend so I was looking for a good hike in that area on Saturday. Exactly what I was looking for.

So awesome! I think I few days spent up in Whistler in the summer mountain biking and hiking would just be the greatest.

Went up there this past Saturday. Pretty amazing up there. May post some photos once I go though them, but pretty much have the same shots. I got an early start, left the car ay 7am and was up to Panorama ridge about 10:30am. I went to Panorama Ridge first and then out via Garibaldi Lake. I knew this was a popular hike, but I don't think I have ever passed so many people on a hike on my way out. I had to have have passed more then 100 people (maybe even more) on their way in as I was hiking down from the lake. I saw almost nobody on the hike in and had Panorama Ridge to myself until I started to head down. I spent maybe 2 minutes at Garibaldi lake itself as it was mobbed. Thought about scrambling up Back Tusk, but there were a ton of people heading that way as well. Glad I had the morning pretty much alone. Still amazing up there.

The Rubble Creek Trail into Garibaldi Lake is affectionately known as the Garibaldi Highway for a reason! Always lots of people on the trail on the weekends. I love that area and always tell people if you're only going to do one hike in SW British Columbia, that is probably the one I'd do. Thanks for the report and photos!

Does anyone know -- is this area any less crowded in September?
