While this may be my first post I've been lurking around on this forum for a couple of years. I appreciate everyone's trip reports but I usually surf this site from my phone and its a PITA to make comments.
On the second last day of summer our Wii became FUBAR so my sister and I have been a little bit restless. So the parental unit suggests that we go on a hike? I'm like WIIFM? The old lady says “You guys like huckleberries, why don't we go on a hike and pick huckleberries?”
So I'm in - I love them berries - so we all load into the car but my sister Kasey is still resisting. She claims she's sick. It almost worked but my mom smartly deduced that she was only love sick. Her boyfriend Daniel wasn't allowed to come along boo hoo
That little bit of drama made us late but the girls were waiting for us at the trailhead. Best of all Dani had her dog with her. He was nice and stout, not like those rat looking things you see other people hike with. He practically pulled me up the trail, we definitely need to hike with a dog like that in the future. Of course my sister figured out what I was doing and demanded a turn . No problem, I just turn on Star Fox Mode™ and blew right past them.
It took about an hour to reach the ridge. No huckleberries, but there were a bunch of people up there already including a volunteer ranger who barked at Dani for stepping off the trail. IANAL but I don't believe that's one of the forest service regulations.
I was then promised that we would find huckleberries if we would kept following the ridge until we got to this little snow patch. Sure enough we get there and my mother hands over these tiny little berries that are smaller than a smurf’s balls and declares mission accomplished. Thanks mom, I'll remember that little bit of deception when it comes time to pick your funeral home.
Beyond that we had a good time, Kasey and Jasper played in the snow and I showed off my new dance routine for Moves Like Jagger. Just like the name suggests you stumble about like an incontinent octogenarian.
FWIW Janet told me we had hiked seven miles that day. Mind her her stride is longer than my entire body so it was closer to 14 miles for me - not bad for a four year old eh? My mother tried to make up for the lack of huckleberries by buying us Ice Cream in Maple Falls. I'll forgive you this time but fool me once...

Great report Ryan!
Glad you all had fun. My daughter Alexia now wants to hike there too and meet all of you (plus the dog)!

Hehe. That's edgy for one of your purported years. Nice pictures. That breed of dog makes a damn good puller.
Now you've gone and made me crave a whole bag of TimBits. Those TH idjuts need to open up in Blaine or Bellingham so us WA residents don't have to risk a full cavity search by govmint employees just to hit up a Tim Hortons.

FYI that is Ganondorf, the arch nemesis of Link & Zelda
My brother laughs non-stop everytime he sees it so if the mods could (as they did once before) resize it, then that would be wonderful. I have notice that it depends what browser you use - Exploore seems to display it fine while Firefox makes it super wide.

Edgy? He was talking about sports equipment. Whatever do you mean?
