The Palisades Lakes Trail is such a fun easy trail to Peaks, meadows and lakes alive in Fall color glory! I camped at Dicks Lake Camp in pleasant forest. I enjoyed the sunset hours by scrambling Marcus Peak 6962': first by hiking to Green Park saddle and ascending the Class 2 short North Ridge and descending the even more enjoyable Class 2 West Ridge.

Up at first light I thoroughly enjoyed the mostly game trail laden traverse of: Brown Peak 6322' South Slide Mountain 6620' Slide Mountain 6339'

Only noteable route description was the steep gully off the lower east ridge of South Slide to gain access to the basin below Slide Mtn 6339'. Follow an obvious game trail around the east side of the northernmost S. Slide summit leading to a very steep vegetated gully (pictured in "S. Slide true summit" pic above). Then traverse high below the cliffs to the saddle between S. Slide and Slide on more game trails. I returned by ascending a more fun gully with solid scrambing on the edges below and just east of the summit of S. Slide (see pic labelled "Gully route"). Fun stuff!
