Undoubtedly backpacking from Sarria to Camino de Santiago in Galicia,Spain, 75+ miles, has been one of the most profound experiences of my life. One thing is for sure, I will be back, this time to start in Saint Jean Pied de Port.
Thank you for the link. I hope to be biking from Ponferrada to Finisterre at the end of Sept. I am more of a traveller than a pilgrim so biking works well for me.

I'm heading back to walk the Portuguese Route from Porto in the fall...
I finished the bike ride along the Camino yesterday when I arrived in Finisterre. So I have been to the end of the world and can tell you that it is very foggy there. Today I took the bus back to Santiago where I attended the 12 noon mass given for the peregriņos (pilgrims). The area of Galicia draws much of its cuisine from the sea. Tonight I am going to have goose barnacles for dinner. Guys harvest the goose barnacles by rappeling down the steep rocky seasides. They have to be quick and gather one or two before the next wave comes crashing in.
Follow me on my Facebook page: RenegadePilgrim. I'm posting pictures daily as well as updates. I shipped my laptop ahead so iPhone pics are it until I get home to post camera pics. In true Oregon/PNW tradition, it is raining for the next few days! Today I walk 27km, give or take. Yesterday was 22km.
