The Mountaineers and OR present an evening with world class climber: Chad Kellogg Join us for an evening with world class climber Chad Kellogg as he takes us on an amazing ten-day climbing adventure of the SW Ridge of Singuniang Shan, a 6250-meter peak in the Changpin Valley in Sichuan, China. Chad completed this climb with his climbing partner Dylan Johnson. For the first three days the route involved climbing through steep rainforest, free climbing up to 5.11, numerous bivies on the 2000-foot granite wall in stormy weather and complicated aid climbing. On day four, the character of the route changed to remarkable alpine ridge climbing on snow covered rock in increasingly deteriorating weather and requiring mixed climbing. After eight days, Chad and Dylan finally reached the summit, right before a lightning storm hit. The way down was no less challenging with diminishing food supplies and by the end of the climb, Dylan lost over 30 pounds and Chad over 20. This was a transformative climb and one of the most significant adventures for both climbers. Chad Kellogg: The First Ascent of the SW Ridge of Siguniang Shan, a 72-pitch Super Alpine Adventure December 12 at 8pm free admission, all are welcome The presentation will be preceded by an Ultralight Alpine Climbing Clinic with Chad December 12 at 7pm registration required please register at www http://www.mountaineers.org/source/atrips/TripRegister.cfm?Event=33147 or by calling The Mountaineers Both events held at The Mountaineers Program Center 7700 Sand Point Way NE Seattle, WA 98115 206.521.6001 We’ll be selling raffle tickets for OR and Petzl gear with the proceeds going towards a toilet at Vantage. Did we mention that we’ll be selling raffle tickets for OR and Petzl gear with the proceeds going towards a toilet at Vantage? I’ve just checked with Jeremy from OR, he has awesome gear waiting for you!

Can't make it. If somebody here goes, please say hi to Chad from Big Steve (Jerker's bud). Should be a great show. He's a good dude.
