Headed up Mt Rose on 1/19. We thought the weather was going to be cold, ended up being 60+ degrees most of the way up. The route was a little different going up then I remembered. As well as the return route. We both ended up breaking our snowshoes due to the steep side traverse on the way down. Who ever pioneered that route was brave!

Where is Mt. Rose? I'm guessing it's somewhere in the state of Washington?

Some people have better things to do with their lives than walking the dog. Some don't.

Mount Rose is in the southern Olympics... It is not too far from Mount Ellinor and Mount Washington. It is a very enjoyable hike (normally trail, when no snowpack).

60 pounds lighter but not 60 points brighter.

Nice pictures. There is a big gap between the summit rocks, it looks like the person and the dog are standing over that gap.

Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

Actually only the last five pictures are from the summit. The others were taken at look out about 1000 ft below the summit.
