Late start due to domestic chores....12'ish.No so buzzed about the full parking lot.Made me feel foolish for starting so late.At least I was making the effort.... Was hoping for the same conditions as two weeks ago.Started out with Kat'ooo'las, skipped the Denali's and the axe.Trail is packed and slick. Some mud in a couple of spots.Lots of boot traffic.Packed trail most of the way.Looks like some new snow in the past week. Saw a bald eagle being escorted west by two crows.Pretty cool.No pics, was enjoying the moment... Further up on the right of the gully, down came a split boarder and a skiier.Looked like nice conditions. The boarder was waiting for the skiier with a big grin. The skiier fell, then while sitting she just said the conditions were amazing.Looks like they were having fun. Meanwhile I kept trudging up the sloppy cow path.Nearing treeline the wind increased as did the occasional crotch'holing. This is where I called it since I had more domestic chores to attend to later in the evening. The was down was sloppy and not very pleasant. Worthy notes-On the way up I did stop and talk with those coming down. One guy said earlier he used crampons up top because he said it was icy.He also said the wind was howling up there just before the summit. But at the lookout it was calm. I also spoke with a bunch of folks that stopped around treeline.Just about everyone had snowshoes but mostly a boot path up. I tried to glassade but it didn't even come close to my 2,000+ foot ride two weekends ago. That weekend I made it up and down in 4 hours 35 minutes. Good to get out,it always is.
