Dad woke me up Sunday morning and asked if I wanted to go on a hike. I said yes but he didn't understand me, so I had to wiggle my tail stub to let him know that I wanted to go. He drank his coffee and loaded me in the car before I could even eat my breakfast.

After a couple stops and transferring into another car, we drove over the pass and then another pass before finally pulling off the road. All the 2-leggers talked for a while and pointed at their colored paper while Izzy and I sniffed things out. Then we all got back in the cars and drove for another minute before finally parking and getting ready to hike.

All the 2-leggers left their snowshoes in the cars and we started walking up the road. Then one of them started hiking straight up the hill. Like a flock of sheep the rest followed. Good thing they had a couple of sheepdogs with them to keep them in line.

It was mostly sunny and it felt like spring. Then suddenly it started snowing. Dad had to put his jacket back on to stay warm. The snow stopped falling shortly before we reached the summit, but the 2-leggers were still cold so they left their extra layers on. Dad tied me up at the summit so I wouldn't get into someone's food. Eventually we all headed back down the peak.

The sun came back out and more clothing came off. Izzy and I entertained ourselves with some sticks. Izzy's mom even thought to give us some water. Good human!

There were a few flowers starting to look pretty as we made our way down the mountain. And there were some rocks that Izzy chased down the hill. Silly girl. Somehow we made it back to the cars and loaded up for the drive back. Except they made another stop for beers. I don;t like beer so I stayed in the car and took a nap.

Here's some photos from dad's camera:

I counted seven 2-leggers on this trip. They were Middle E, Matt, Opus, Dicey, Marmot, Snowdog and GeoTom (my dad!). Izzy and I kept them in line all day.

Oh, for those that are interested, dad's GPS said 7.2 miles with almost 2,900 feet of total gain.

A good sunny side approach is a little further N down the road,  Camas Creek Rd.  to the pull out at Little Camas Creek Rd. more flowers and views.  I like the North ridge too.

In the Highway 97 / Blewett Pass corridor, is a Sno-Park pass still required when parking alongside the highway?
Or only at designated locations? (And if so, which locations?)

I am not certain about the rules, especially considering this is April.
I already have a normal Trail Park pass, albeit that is different than a Sno-Park pass.

Here is a link that has some information about various locations requiring passes - but until April 30, you will need to call the Cle Elm Ranger to see if you need one on Blewett.
