I do. I was just wondering whether anyone else here does? I suspect most people do not.

I have 30 to 60 days worth of camping food, mostly leftover meals from the last couple of years trips. Most of it is items that got passed over- the least desirable freeze-dried meals. So, I'm not a doomsday prepper, just a haphazard over-organizer. Or just disorganized, maybe. I like having a weeks worth of food in my car.

Man BPJ, you think I am going to admit to it? lol.gif Then you would know what house to come to ;-) Ummmm.....I'd make my LDS neighbors proud. I am going to be putting on a canning get together for my neighbors this year! Oh yeah, and we have been ripping out our back yard this year. My goal is to be self sufficient for veggies and berries. It is a multi-year project, glad I live in an area where the HOA is relaxed. Anyhow, I can and dry a lot for home use.

I got maybe a dozen vacuum-packed, dehydrated dinners stored in the freezer that I use for backpacking, but nothing for doomsday scenarios.

Just common sense stuff that any rural family does. Stock up at Costco every few months. Still eating apples from last year and frozen and canned fruit and veggies and fish. Big garden. yadda, yadda

Thanks Sar. That's nice to hear. Im sure Ive gone overboard, but better more than less. I simply dont have faith in our government to remain solvent with these spending practices. I can see an economic crash coming. I want to be prepared for it.

If I can rip up my yard in an HOA development (thankfully ours is pretty laid back), most anyone can do it. It isn't easy work but it is satisfying and rewarding. Self sufficiency can be worked on, slowly!

I'm working on it...but as a single person, I don't have to worry about storing as much as a family does...however, a lot of this stuff is spendy. My goal is to have a week's worth of food/water, then work my way to a month's worth of food/water and then go from there.

I've been a believer in the world economic collapse for 30 yrs, not because of any political party but rather the selfish nature of mankind. the wheels are turning and no one can stop it. Does a case of Cattle drive chilly & a 10lb bag of rice count? As a chapter member of the Deep Creek Desperadoes (all 4 of us) we are prepared in horse flesh. Not so much in eating them, but to carry 200rds for the rifle and 100rds for the pistol in the saddle bags and the next people over that ridge have the groceries....hopefully they're not a NWhiker. hockeygrin.gif Just kidding, I really plan to be the next postman in the end times. clown.gif
