It was a nice day to be up on Vesper Friday. Easy drive to the trail head and hike up into Wirtz Basin where we started skinning.
John and I got a late start and watched Jeff, Carl, and DOD ski down from the summit.
They came back up for another run hoping to finally see the fabulous view from the summit, but we only got glimpses through the clouds.
Climbing Vesper
Clouds kept us relatively cool on most of the climb, but the new snow up high was quite mushy and sticky. We set off some exciting sluffs skiing down to the lake, but managed to avoid them.

Headlee Pass had good snow. Of course Jeff & Carl had to jump into it and ski the whole thing with a few high speed GS turns.

Skiing Wirtz Basin
Of course it cleared up as we hiked out, but that made the car beers taste even better!
