Back up into the Mt Rose Wilderness above Reno to finish a hike of the Rim to Reno Trail, a newly constructed trail that traverses this small wilderness end to end.

On Monday I hiked in from the south end, off the Mt Rose Highway, via the Mt Rose Trail and met the Rim To Reno below Mt Rose. on either direction from me, two large fires from recent lightning were putting up lots of smoke.  I went up Mt Rose 10, 776' in the early evening for views and to scout water below for a camping night.  I ridge hopped over to Church Peak 10601' while I was up there as well.

In the morning I headed north on the new trail, dayhiking, to reach the point of the trail that I hiked the week before.  Then I turned around to pack up camp and head back out the way I came in.

On the way out I walked up Mt Houghton 10, 490', to the SW of Mt Rose, to get a closer look at Lake Tahoe Basin and a different point of view.

Nothing really jawdropping but these are Reno's home hills, kinda like Mt Si, I guess.
