Last weekend (5/18), we explored the status of a few of the roads that branch off of NF-70 outside of Greenwater, starting with NF-7010 across the river. While some camping areas around here are a little trashed, there are still some gems left scattered about that are great for car camping.
There are a few less downed trees now although a big one remains on NF-70201 just before a cluster of campsites which might need a monster sized chainsaw. Snow is completely non-existant until almost hitting the ridge. The melt off from our hot streak a few weeks ago really did its toll on the snow.
There is also an additional road that was opened which opens up to some new areas.
If you go up near the top of the ridge, you will eventually run into some snow patches. I think that is around 3500-4000 feet. We decided not to go any further once we got up this far.
NF-72 has a couple of impassable patches of snow a few miles in, so we gave up and turned around. I did not have a chance to take a picture of the snow. It was really slushy, and hopefully the cold snap blowing through doesn't build much on this.

I wouldn't doubt it! Remarkably clean however. Although, its not exactly off the beaten path.

I have been talking to a few friend about this. It might already be known, but greenwater lakes has been a bit rowdy in their experiences. One of my friends tells me since its a place you can drag a cooler up to, with difficulty, its not exactly a quiet family oriented environment.
He also says a few things I don't agree with, so maybe he just hates the place.
