Thanks for all the great info!!! Thanks you everyone! Changing diet to completely healthy eating. Not only do I save money by making my own food but I can control what is put in it.

You'll want to get a juicer too.

It takes time to learn how to use a Vitamix properly. I have one and use it 1-3 times a day. There is a reason they cost so much (US made, powerful, etc). Blendtec is also good. Run from Ninja if you like your fingers healthy. I had one and while it worked OK, the core of blades drops out while washing - and are RAZOR sharp. After cutting myself a number of times, I gave up.
I also have the dry container for my VM and use it to grind dry goods.
Also, Costco does sell the VM in the $300'ish range without any extra goodies.

If you do want to go with Vitamix....let's say I know a guy who has some kind of connection (not sure what), but is able to depart with them more cheaply than standard price. He uses them as leverage to help with a church charity. If you are interested PM me.

We got BlendTec from Costco a few months ago. It's awesome.
Will it blend? Yes, it certainly will!

Yup. I have, still have and use, an Iona blender from General Signal Corp from the 70s.
