While Jasper and Tom have been up Earl Peak several times each, I had only been twice before. Once on a cloudy, cold and blustery June day and again a few years ago on a clear, but windy day. When GeoTom suggested we go there before the weather turned I agreed, as long as it wasn't one of his 'Epic' 3:00 am starts.
We had the trail and the mountain to ourselves all day, with very little wind and only a couple small snow patches on the trail. It was cold in the morning shade, but fairly comfortable once we hit the saddle and got into the sun. The crossing of Bean Creek was easy, but GeoTom decided to rock hop without his trekking poles. He slipped and fell, but only got one foot and leg a little wet and didn't reinjure his knee too badly. He decided to use trekking poles on the way back.
Same stats as always, whatever they are. Tom keeps track of those details while I prefer to simply enjoy the views along the trail. Speaking of, here are some of our photos:

Did you tell him that if that was his Jester attempt, it wasn't funny?
