and you are very right about them being independent, but tyson is the face and even tho they are independent, tyson foods has a responsibility to do business with contractors who are ethical in the way they run their business. would you have a contractor roof your house knowing their going to use products that do not meet code? so why would tyson not want to keep on top of all parts of their dealing with contractors? even animal abuse. i understand that their is more then tyson at falt here, but tyson is the only one who got away with doing business with a shifty contractor.

In Iowa, law prohibits meat processors from owning livestock. Not sure about the rest of the country though.

I buy from local farmers. That way I can watch my future meals out eating grass when I drive by.

What's much more appalling is what happens to the animals before they ever reach Tyson. My food consciousness underwent a paradigm shift after reading Michael Pollen's "The Omnivore's Dilemma" and Barbara Kingsolver's "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle".

I don't buy Tyson because everything I have ever bought from them tastes terrible.

well tom, i called in and said i would like to place a formal complaint. them i told them i did not like the way they work with contractors and until they have a better policy when dealing and keeping track of the treatment of animals my family is boycotting TYSON FOOD brand items. well its was close to that any way. i suggest you come up with something along those lines in your own words.

Shouldn't you boycott stores that sell TYSON products? Aren't they abusing and dismembering animals too?

"Rude" is his middle name, get used to it.

I sense disappointment over the abusing and dismembering that occurred at CenturyLink field tonight.

Lol. Tom, I think with their play tonight even I have become a believer.
Seems like "a team of destiny"....hopefully if they make it to the Super Bowl they don't get blatantly robbed like last time.

It ain't the chicken, it's the teryaki, salt, or whatever other flavoring slathered on. I avoid mystery meat.

Mystery meat? It's boneless skinless chicken breast with rib meat.
