I like to get the ball rolling the day after Thanksgiving. My friends and I went to the tree farm near Earnie's Grove outside of Snoqualmie. Near the North Fork Sno river road. We spent all day decorating their 12'er then I went home and did my little 6.5' er. I wish I could get some better pics. Crummy light.

Not yet. I want a real one, my wife wants the fake one at Costco. Hmmm.... We had a fake one for about 5 or 6 years. I just like the smell etc of a real tree so much better.

Saturday, picked up a nicely shaped and full Doug fir 6-7feet tall from Home Depot for $20.
You get a nice smell of greenery in the house and its recyclable and a renewable resource.
Seems like a better deal than having to store a dusty fake tree during the year.
I am not a fan of the Charley Brown "natural" trees obtained with a permit and a lot of effort. But some people like the effect and challenge.
just my viewpoint though....

I'm glad people are celebrating this pagan holiday with the ancient pagan tradition of the evergreen tree for the winter solstice. Does my heart good.

The Festival of Lights is a Gawdsend at this dark time of year.

Touron is a nougat of Arabic origin made with almonds and honey or sugar, without which it would just not be Christmas in Spain.

That's a fine looking tree, BPJ. We don't have one up yet here, but if we build one I'll post it. So far we're undecided.
In my neighborhood the yuletide displays are exhorbitant and fabulous; I suspect some of my neighbors have monthly utility bills running into the thousands of dollars this time of year. My favorites are the huge-ass front yard nativity scenes with automated life-like characters and surround-sound carroling on giant PA systems. Beats the tacky rooftop Santa displays hands down.
Merry Christmas or what-have-you!

Upon closer inspection, I discovered a hitchhiker
