Looking forward to the new year? or perhaps dreading it? What's your plans for 2014? I'll kick it off. I was accepting into the practical nursing program. It's a 1 year program, but I'm intending on continuing on to be an RN and then hopefully on day, work toward a BSN. It will be another busy year but I hope to get in a hike or two so I don't go crazy. No plan is too small, so jump in if you have a mind to. Thanks!

Most of the details aren't worked out yet, but the wife and I are going to circumnavigate Glacier Peak.

I'm going to fly around the world, connecting flights without a layover, just to do it.

I have a three week bonus vacation I need to use by October. Thinking of another walking tour , this time perhaps in Provence I might hook back up to the Lakes District to do a few of the iconic hikes I missed this last summer. I was going to do an Amazon river cruise but I decided between Carnival and the World Cup ,Brazil is not where I want to be.

up.gif lol.gif You have a time machine I can borrow to accomplish the same? I intend to actually carry through with my plan to retire and climb Mr Shuksan. That's the plan anyway.

I'm going to rob a bank -- a Wall St. bank -- to pay for a knee operation for Al.

Which route are you going to take? Before you answer, have a look at the photos in this trip report.

Don't know yet. But, like Rainier, I'll study it quite a bit first - armchair study because I don't live close enough (yet) to go up there and take a look for myself. I've been studying various trip reports to get a feel for what I'm in for, and I had not seen this one yet. Thank you. I'm considering a guide service, mainly because 1) I don't know what I'm doing enough yet, and 2) I don't yet have a trusted climbing partner. I used IMG last year to summit Rainier, and they were superb.

Nepal in October 2014 to do some trekking on the Manaslu Route. Locally, gonna do the Rogue River Trail, maybe a week in the North Cascades, and see how high I can get up on Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams, weather permitting, of course. And just keep on hiking and backpacking like usual.

Need to get to the top of Glacier Peak and Mt. Adams in 2014 to finish my 5 WA volcanos list. Planning to climb many of enchantments peaks; probably Shuksan also. Want to try ice climbing. But like everything in life, will see what happens. Health, time, money, family, weather, - all play a factor in the final results.
