There are a lot of them in the Mt. St. Helens blast zone, lots of young alders, cottonwoods, and willows for them to chew on! The hummocks trail is a great place to see them, I've participated in several trail work parties there where we rerouted the trail away from the rising waters!
This photo was taken about a month ago on the Hummocks Trail.

Lake Washington across from Seward Park, I saw some gnawed trees. City beaver? Would be cool to see in the city!!! Also saw four vacant turtle shells all in one area. Was hoping someone didn't kill them. A bunch of garbage there, need to return with trash bags and rubber boots! Anyone want to join? PM me. This weekend?

Once you pick your spot, design your photo and decide what kind of hide you want, make your bait. Record a tiny stream with some splash in it. The kind you step across without slowing your pace. Secret playback device under log. Set to play on continuous loop. Wait. Wait some more. For beavers the highest good is building dams to stop the sound of running water. Not responsible for incisor damage to you or your playback device.

Keep Calm and Carry On? Heck No. Stay Excited and Get Outside!
