i had the same issue a few years ago with my subaru legacy(which i do not own any longer). from what i understand is the AWD system runs 80/20, so just getting one set to put on the back works just fine. i snow shoe on MT Rainier a lot and never had to put the chains on. i mostly just kept them the the car to show rangers if they need to do a visual check.
