Today I stopped for a Gatorade at 7-11 and I was shocked to see the new style bottle. It's an hourglass shape and less volume, it's 28oz but the same price!!
I'm not too happy with the new shape and size. Any comments input?

There are many sports drink recipes online.
Perhaps boycott Gatorade and make your own?

Are you old enough to remember when 16 ounce cans were, well, 16 ounces? Then 15.5 ounces. Then 15. Now mostly 14.5. Same old same old.

Off topic, but chips are the worst. The bag is HALF EMPTY and filled up with air.

Well, the good thing is, now you can stop drinking Gatorade!
The stuff's bad for ya....
Now, Ninkasi, THAT's a proper drink!

Shady stuff. And annoyingly all too common nowadays. The Consumer Reports blog actually has a pretty good list going of other manufacturers who've done this. Link if you're interested.

Stop whining. I've used the same Gatgorade bottles for 10 years, and I didn't pay for them. Square bottles are better anyway, they don't roll.
They will sell Us anything we're dumb enough to buy, so stop buying it. Gatorade has way too much sugar for an electrolyte replacement drink. The plastic itself is arguably unsafe.
And why pay good money for it when you can pay much more good money for plain designer water that you could get out of your tap for free?
FYI the Radiothor vendor (radium in water sold to enhance your health, sex life, etc.) got in trouble with the USFDA because he was not putting as much radium in his water as advertised.

I love grape Gatorade when I'm skiing/touring but I cut it 1:1 with water. it's just way too sweet otherwise.
I do the same thing with Grapefruit cocktail. The sugar in both of those things gives me a quick boost when I'm working hard and burning lots of calories.
I take powdered gatorade hiking on long trips because sometimes it's nice to have a little flavor in your beverage rather than just plain water.
More and more though I've been going with lighter weight alternatives, like those little packets of Stevia sweetened lemonade mix. Sugar is heavy!

Perhaps Gatorade is doing everyone a favor by giving them fewer empty calories for the price.
Kinda reminds me a bit of when I would hear of European Big Macs vs. American ones. The Euromacs were much smaller (or so I was told) and thus, so were the Europeans. Perhaps things are different now.
At any rate, when it comes to sugary sports drinks, I tend to think less is more.

I don't really see it as empty calories when I'm hiking, burn more calories than I can consume and want to stay hydrated. I'm gathering that's why Bryan K was picking up a bottle at 7-11. In that case less is less not more.

Nothing like a nice cold/still partially frozen 32 oz bottle of Gatorade with lunch on a hot summer hike. Grape or lime preferred.
That's the only time I drink the stuff, but I sure love it then. It just hits the spot just right.

Will makes a killer backcountry margarita.
With the sole exception of using it as a margarita mix, I stopped packing Gatorade -- liquid or powder -- when I started carrying S-caps as my electrolyte supplement.

Good hangover cure. That's about the only use I have for it.
