Exactly! Plus trees don't get chopped down anymore. We've been using chainsaws since the 1950s if not before. Duh!

Thank you for posting that link to an actual picture.
I guess moving the rail line a little to the right or left is out of the question.

The rails in the pic in the article I posted are not the rails referred to in the aricle by the OP (those are 'planned' rails, I believe).
These rails are part of the old, dis-used (or infrequently used?) RR which runs from Santa Cruz north into Felton/Scotts Valley area, adjacent to State Hwy 9 - and through the Henry Cowell Redwoods St. Park.
