Dang man, that photo says it all. I could not imagine being stuck up there for 5 hours with an injury like that. You must be tough. Good thoughts heading your way from me!

Heal well Dane. Don't worry so much about what the doctors say, concern yourself with what you have control over. Your attitude and determination will get you far in your recovery, for sure.

Heal well, Dane. For anyone who hasn't read it before, here's an epic trip report that shows the scale of Dane's accomplishments: 50 Days in the Olympic Mountains.

Pulling for you, Dane. Your awesome photos and TR's are an inspiration. I loved the section that featured your Olympic adventures in "Out of the Mysts."

Yikes! - Just now saw this thread. frown.gif Sorry to hear what happened Dane, best wishes for successful surgeries & quick recovery. As others have said, your epic long adventures in the backcountry have been inspiring & I've enjoyed your trip reports. The few hikes we did together were fun & I appreciated your upbeat attitude. smile.gif Surely your positive outlook will serve you well in overcoming this bump in the road. up.gif

I thought, hey, an awesome trip report I can read. An hour later, I was still sitting there, with my jaw dropped. Way to seize life by the horns and just go for it, Dane. Pulling for you.

Heal well Dane. I wish you good care, and courage and patience as you undertake the road to recovery. A friend of a friend had a similar outcome from a BASE jump some months ago and he is healing well. If you wish I can put you guys in touch (he is in California). PM me for details if you are interested now, or months from now.
