Avoid the logging roads near Lake Cushman. My daughter and I found dozens of ticks on Patches at the summit of Grisdale Hill (near the High Steel Bridge) and I found one on my leg. We got down off the summit and drove home with my daughter pulling ticks off patches and throwing them out the window all the way home. When we got home we put Patches on her leash outside. We then took our clothes in the laundry room and put them in the wash and we found three ticks on the laundry room floor!! Patches is living outside until we can get her shaved and treated. We both showered and checked each other for ticks and found none we have avoided being bitten, but Patches is going to get it for sure.

Seems early. I bet Mt Erie is blowing up with them right now as well.

March is our normal peak for ticks in the Bald Hills of Thurston County, but this year it's April.

It always seemed to me that the Skoke and south were bad for ticks in the Olympics.Pulled plenty off my lab over the years. Spring time over in the Chinook pass area used to be terrible.Woke up one morning with one sucking on my cheek.
